Star History / Re: Adding documents to the archive?
« on: June 23, 2015, 07:05:27 am »
Star San Diego closed there doors in 1997.   At one point I thought it was earlier, but not so.

I probably have the carbon copy for that receipt.   i have the carbons for the last four or five years of operation, but I haven't had a chance to go through them yet.

Star Reloaders / Re: Holmes Reloading Products
« on: June 02, 2015, 12:37:24 am »
I have one, I don't use it because all of my reloaders have Lee case feeder tubes installed, but the Holmes is an effective way of filling tubes.   The previous owner of mine shortened the legs and the tubes.

Since 45 ACP is a rimless case, it is held in place by the shell plate.   I won't drop through the base.   It sounds like your machine has the #68U Shell Floor Base Plug installed.   It can be removed and replaced with a #67U Shell Floor Base Bushing if you would like shells to drop out the bottom........but not rimless cases like 45 ACP.

Your case feeder is an older design, but quite functional.   Depending on weather it is cut with a T slot or not below the piston, you may or may not be able to load 44 Magnum and 45 Colt.  With the proper top plate you should be able to load everything else.

PS    I have all of the large and small primer parts in stock.

I have used a Case Kicker for 9MM without difficulty.   Might take a little adjusting.

The charge bars that Star Machine Works currently offers are all machined to accept bushings.   I have "0", "00". 1/2" and 5/8" charge bars available.   Prices vary depending on the size, but a "00" charge bar with one custom bushing is $35.   Additional bushings are $7 each.   I use the published VMD to calculate the appropriate hole size.

As to the original question, Star Machine Works made powder bars for all common powders, but the Bullseye "BE" were the most common.

Technically, the standard powder spout can be used for 9MM, but I prefer the small powder spout that is required for 32 S&WL.   I have both sizes of powder spouts and the seating stem in stock.
