Bruce: If I am using 4.4 gr WST (VMD = 0.1205) how do I order a charge bar and bushing from you?

I made my own out of a non-adjustable bullseye powder bar. I find that it is accurate within +/- 0.1 grain, but that is a wide spread when looking at making major PF using standard deviation. Has anyone ever tried to made a bridge for the bottom of the powder hopper? I fashioned one out of cardboard which seems to make the powder throws more consistent compared to not having one. Do any of the Star machinist gurus have such a device for sale?

Thanks to everyone for your input. i seated the bullets shallower (1/16 bullet shoulder exposed) and the feeding problem went away; even with older mags. difference between the problem rounds (1.230) and shallower bullet depth (1.270) seemed to cure the problem. thnaks again.

Re: crimp. Is 0.469 at the case mouth too tight or OK?

Thank you all for the info and feedback. I will start with OAL, which I suspect is the problem. Cheers. Ken.

Greetings: I am having chambering issues using 200 gr SWC in a 1911. The loaded round hits the feed ramp and pops up at a 45 degree angle well before the rim is caught by the extractor. It jams solidly at this angle. Am I seating the bullets too deep? Does anyone know what OAL the loaded cartridge should be to feed properly? Thanks for any help you can give.

Is there a method of setting up the taper crimp die for 45? I pulled a few bullets from reloaded rounds and found lines on them from the shell rim (jacketed SWC). Maybe the die is set too low? thanks.

I think I found the problem with the primer holes. I mic'd the  problem cases and found the primer holes to be about 40 thousands smaller than a standard large pistol primer. Perhaps this brass is not intended for reloading??

I fired my Universal up after 20 years of storage. I checked everything out first, and the primer seating anvil looks fine, no binding, etc. Does anyone know why once fired Federal brass (45 ACP) binds the machine up resulting in no primer being seated? Even primers that seat correctly seem to take a little more pressure than what I remember (maybe I was stronger 20 yrs ago!). Any thoughts? Thanks.
