1/2" Powder Slides are already to go.

These slides are designed to use the Hornady "Pistol Powder Bushings".
https://www.hornady.com/shop/?ps_session=fcbeb03e20272a57546d03a0ee40a7a4&page=shop%2Fbrowse&category_id=86427dfcf7870e49afc63418548790bb

Included with the slide are two starter bushings which you can modify to achieve your desired load.  Also included are spacers to adapt your "00" powder slide housing into a 1/2" powder slide housing.   Price for everything is $75 plus $4.95 for Priority Mail Shipping.

rbwillin:
New to the site due to looking for an adjustable powder bar. I have a universal with the 00 bar and would like to buy one of your 1/2 inch bars with the spacers and starter bushings if they are still available.
What do you recommend using to drill - hone the holes to the appropriate size? Is there a SWAG chart for the pistol powder diameters for viewing?
Feel free to PM or email me.

Hornady has a chart on their site which tells you which Pistol Powder bushing to order for the powder charge that you want, but it does give any idea what size hole you would need.   http://www.hornady.com/assets/files/handgun_pwdr_meas_chrt.pdf

The Lee AutoDisk instruction sheet has a chart which shows the hole volume in CC's that is needed for a particular charge.  With that information you can calculate the hole diameter you would need in a 1/2" (or other) powder slide.  Tell me what charge you want and I'll give you a sample calculation.   http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi-data/instruct/AD2302.pdf

It's best to drill the hole undersized, than ream it to the desired size.  The best tool is a Taper Pin Reamer of the appropriate size.  It has just a slight taper.  That's what Star used on their powder slides.

I just use a hand tapered reamer to get the charge that will produce the desired velocity. I have all of the Hornady bushings and you won't always get the weight that you need resulting the need for the hand tapered reamer.
